MILWAUKEE- The Marquette University women's volleyball team and head coach Ryan Theis have announced the addition of transfer Anna Haak to the team beginning this summer. Haak will be available to compete in the 2017 season and have two season of eligibility remaining.
Haak comes to Marquette after two seasons at the University of Miami where the 5'11 outside hitter averaged 3.21 kills per set and collected 2.36 digs per frame as a sophomore for the Hurricanes and tallied 10 double-doubles. As a freshman, Haak also notched 10 double-doubles in her debut season and landed a career-best 22 kills, averaging 1.89 for the season.
"Anna comes with a quite a bit of experience in both international and collegiate volleyball," Theis said. "She is a great addition to a young squad and has great passion for the game that will excite our players."
Originally from Angelholm, Sweden, Haak helped her club team to a perfect 37-0 season and the 2015 championship in the Svensk Volleyboll League. She also helped Sweden earn a gold medal at the NEVZA U19 tournament in 2014, earning a spot on the all-tournament team and received the Idrottskolden for 2015 at Angelholms Gymnasieskola for the Sport Performance of the Year.
Haak completes the Golden Eagles' roster for the 2017 Marquette Volleyball campaign and joins seven incoming freshmen and fellow transfer Kayli Trausch.
