MILWAUKEE--Head coach Ryan Theis has announced the 2015 Marquette University volleyball schedule for the fall campaign.

The Golden Eagles will look to advance to their fifth-straight NCAA Tournament in 2015 after concluding last season with a 24-9 overall record. They return nine players, including All-BIG EAST first team performer Meghan Niemann, and will have five newcomers to the fall roster.

"I'm really excited for our schedule this year," Theis said. "There are multiple 20-win teams on the schedule, which should make for a really challenging pre-season. I'm looking forward to getting back on the court and getting our season started."

Marquette will open the season on Friday, Aug. 28 against North Dakota at 4:00 p.m. CT in Ames, Iowa. The Golden Eagles will then face Dayton at 11:00 a.m. CT on Saturday, Aug. 29 before taking on host school Iowa State at 6:30 p.m. CT. Both Dayton and Iowa State advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2014.

MU will travel to Springfield, Mo. the following weekend for the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational, Sept. 4-5, and face Oral Roberts and Miami before competing against tournament host Missouri State at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 5. The Hurricanes defeated UCF in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before falling 3-1 to Florida, which closed out their 2014 season.

The Golden Eagles will remain on the road Sept. 11-12 and travel to Laramie, Wyoming for Pistol Pete's Showdown Invitational hosted by the University of Wyoming. Along with the Cowgirls, MU will compete against NCAA Tournament teams Northern Colorado and Kansas over the course of the weekend.

Marquette will make its home debut Sept. 18-19 hosting the annual Marquette Invitational. The Golden Eagles will welcome Wichita State to the Al McGuire Center at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18 and have matches against Albany (11 a.m.) and IUPUI (7 p.m.) on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Marquette will then head out for a four-game road stretch beginning Friday, Oct. 2 at Villanova before traveling to face Seton Hall on Saturday, Oct. 3 in South Orange, N.J. The Pirates finished as runners-up in the BIG EAST Tournament earned their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2014, falling 3-0 to BYU in the first round.

The road stint will conclude at Georgetown (Oct. 9) and at Creighton (Oct. 11).

The Golden Eagles will play seven of their next eight matches at the Al McGuire Center hosting Providence and St. John's Oct. 16-17 and Seton Hall and Villanova Oct. 23-24. Marquette dropped two of three matches played against the Pirates last season with the victory coming in a 3-1 battle at the Al last October.

MU will host crosstown-foe Milwaukee in the annual showdown on Monday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. CT. Last season the Golden Eagles swept the Panthers, 3-0, led by 10 blocks from returning junior Teal Schnurr.
