MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's volleyball program concluded a busy first week of fall training camp Friday morning with a team meeting at the Al McGuire Center.

The coaches gave the players Friday off from practice to aid in the recovery of a grueling week, both physically and mentally.

The team gathered for the first time on Friday, Aug. 9 before departing Saturday morning for a weekend of team building in Green Lake, Wis. With six incoming freshman and three new assistant coaches, the weekend in Green Lake provided an important acquaintance period for the newcomers and returners alike.

The squad was able to get in a pair of practices over the weekend at Ripon College and engaged in a boat-building competition, won by the middle hitters (pictured below), before returning to Milwaukee on Monday afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday included a pair of practices each day at the Al McGuire Center, while Thursday morning was the team's annual pre-season photo shoot, followed by a practice Thursday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles begin their 2013 season just two weeks from today at Bowling Green in the Hampton Inn Invitational.
