Volleyball Concludes Blue and Gold Scrimmage

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's volleyball team hosted a successful youth clinic prior to the Blue and Gold scrimmage on Sunday afternoon at the Al McGuire Center.

The youth clinic had close to 60 kids in attendance, which featured instruction from Marquette coaching staff and players. Everyone involved was invited to a pizza party prior to the team scrimmage.

In the Blue and Gold scrimmage, redshirt Taylor Louis recorded 19 kills, while redshirt juniors Mary Milles and Sara Blasier dished out 27 and 29 assists, respectively. Junior Lauren Houg totaled 16 digs, while Blasier posted 11 digs for a double-double in the scrimmage.

Following the match the Golden Eagles signed autographs for fans in attendance.

Marquette will officially open the 2015 season on Friday, Aug. 28 against North Dakota at the Iowa State Challenge in Ames, Iowa. Match time is slated for 4:00 p.m. CT.
