Marquette Heads to Shocker Volleyball Classic

MILWAUKEE-- The Marquette women's volleyball team continues its season this weekend with the second of four non-conference tournaments as the squad travels to Wichita, Kansas for the Shocker Volleyball Classic hosted by Wichita State.
Marquette (2-1) will open against IUPUI (2-2) on Friday, September 2 at 4:30 p.m. Central time, followed by a match against former BIG EAST opponent, Cincinnati (2-1) on Saturday, September 3 at 10:00 a.m. CT, and will conclude with the host Shockers (1-1) at 7:30 p.m. CT in the Charles Koch Arena on Wichita State's campus.
The Golden Eagles are coming off an impressive weekend of play during the USC Baden Invitational in Los Angeles, CA. The team started off strong with an upset against No. 7 USC, the programs' second-ever win against a top-10 opponent. They also captured a 3-2 victory over UC Irvine, before dropping a 3-1 decision to Santa Clara in a short turnaround. After strong tournament performances, senior Lauren Houg and redshirt sophomore Jenna Rosenthal each earned spots on the USC Baden Invitational All-Tournament team.
Following the weekend, Marquette will head to Lexington, Kentucky to take part in another two-day tournament hosted by the University of Kentucky on September 9 and 10.
