Bailey and Koberstein Claim BIG EAST Weekly Honors

MILWAUKEE - Marquette University outside hitter Autumn Bailey earned BIG EAST Conference Freshman of the Week honors for the second time in as many weeks while senior setter Elizabeth Koberstein was named to the league's weekly honor roll on Monday, Sept. 9.
Bailey continued her hot play with a match-high 20 kills against TCU on Saturday and a team-high eight kills in three sets against then-No. 3 USC on Friday. She leads the BIG EAST and currently ranks 16th in all of NCAA Division I with an average of 4.56 kills per set.
The freshman also recorded 16 digs, three service aces and hit .378 against the Horned Frogs, while being named to the Marquette Challenge all-tournament team along with Koberstein.
Koberstein led the MU offense to an attack percentage of .309 with 55 assists against TCU and also added 11 digs in that contest.
The Golden Eagles head to Fort Myers, Fla., for the 2013 Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites Airport Volleyball Invitational on Sept. 13-14 where they will face tournament-host Florida Gulf Coast in addition to No. 3 Penn State and Central Arkansas.
