Marquette Set for Crosstown Match at Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE--After a short turnaround from the weekend, the Marquette University women's volleyball team travels across town to face Milwaukee at the Klotsche Center on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. Central time.

Marquette (4-4) opened the 2017 Marquette Invitational last Friday by sweeping Loyola Chicago in straight sets before falling to No. 13 Kentucky on Sunday in four sets, decided by just two points in every match.
Sophomore Allie Barber has paced the Golden Eagles offense averaging 4.52 kills per set while Jenna Rosenthal has led the squad with 1.15 blocks per set on the defensive end. Barber leads the BIG EAST in kills per set and ranks 18th nationally. Sophomore setter Lauren Speckman paces the BIG EAST handing out 11.81 assists per set as the Golden Eagles sit tied at the top with Providence at 13.23 assists each contest.
Tuesday's matchup between Marquette and Milwaukee will be the 80th meeting between the programs. The Golden Eagles have won 10 straight against the Panthers, dating back to 2008. Most recently, Milwaukee took down DePaul and Army in the same day (Sept. 9) and owns a 7-3 mark on the season.
Following Tuesday's match, Marquette will have another short break before heading west to Madison, Wis. to take on the fifth-ranked Badgers at 7 p.m. CT at the UW Fieldhouse.
