The Golden Eagles are coming off a swift 3-0 win against city-foe Milwaukee Tuesday evening. Sophomore Allie Barber continued her steady play leading the squad with 13 kills in the match and spends the week as a member of the BIG EAST honor roll for her play in the Marquette Invitational last weekend which is her second recognition in three weeks. Marquette is 5-4 on the season and has already played four nationally ranked teams.

Barber leads the BIG EAST with 4.59 kills per set, which is 19th nationally, while her classmate and setter Lauren Speckman is dishing out 11.82 assists to her teammates, which also leads the league and comes in at 12th in the NCAA.

Wisconsin has not lost a set this season as their record improves to 7-0. The Badgers are one of 11 teams in the nation to remain undefeated through Sept. 11. Opponents have scored 20 or more points in a set only seven times on the season. This will be the 21st all-time meeting between the two programs, but the first since 2008 when the Badgers swept the Golden Eagles in Milwaukee.

Marquette will face Southern Miss (9-4) in the second match of the Badger Classic on Friday. MU has an 8-6 all-time series record against Southern Miss. Southern Mississippi has won the first set in 11 of its 13 matches and is averaging 14.1 kills per set on the season in contrast to Marquette's 13.7.

This will be MU's final non-conference matches of the season as the Golden Eagles will travel to Butler to open BIG EAST play on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. CT.
