MILWAUKEE -- Marquette junior setter Caryn Mastandrea was named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll for the week of Sept. 15, the BIG EAST announced today.

On the weekend, Mastandrea recorded 14 kills for an attack percentage of .220, had 144 assists and 42 digs. She tied her career high of 50 assists in Marquette's opening night victory over Temple while also setting a career high with 16 digs in the contest.

Over this past weekend, Mastandrea was also named to the Marquette Challenge All-Tournament Team, continuing the performances she put forth at the UNI Invitational Sept. 5-6, to claim all-tournament honors there as well.

Mastandrea is the first Golden Eagle to be named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll during the 2008 season. It is also the first such honor of her career.

The Marquette women's volleyball team returns to action this Saturday in the Marquette Cheese Bowl with matches against Oregon State and American at noon and 6 p.m., respectively. MU then plays Wisconsin on Sunday at 4 p.m., a match which will be televised locally on Time Warner Cable Sports, Channel 32.

Fans attending matches on Saturday should be aware that Al's Run will be going on in the morning around the Marquette campus and should plan accordingly.
