MILWAUKEE – Marquette University junior right-side hitter Lindsey Gosh was named to the BIG EAST Conference Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in her career on Monday afternoon, recognizing her play at the Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites Airport FGCU Volleyball Classic.

Gosh led the Golden Eagles to a pair of victories over tournament-host Florida Gulf Coast and Central Arkansas and a loss to then-No. 3 Penn State in Fort Myers, Fla. The Oconomowoc, Wis., native notched a season-high 17 kills against Central Arkansas to go along with a season-high five service aces and a career-high eight blocks. She also hit .412 against the Sugar Bears and a combined .342 while earning all-tournament honors.

The BIG EAST leader in service aces per set at 0.50, Gosh ranks 26th nationally in that category and also sits eighth in the conference in hitting percentage (.318). She was a preseason All-BIG EAST selection and entered this season with a career hitting percentage of .198.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday at the Kress Center in Green Bay, Wis., against the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. The match is the home opener for the Phoenix and new head coach Michaela Franklin, a Marquette assistant coach from 2009-12 under Bond Shymansky.
