Koberstein Earns Second BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Nod
Sept. 24, 2012
MILWAUKEE - Junior setter Elizabeth Koberstein of the Marquette University women's volleyball team was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon, following her play in MU's conference-opening win against Syracuse this past weekend.
Koberstein averaged 13 assists per set in MU's three-set sweep of the Orange, notching 39 assists and guiding MU to a hitting percentage of .301 on the afternoon.
The Madison, Wis. native helped to set the tone early by collecting 17 of her 39 assists in the first set, allowing the Golden Eagles to hit .452 in the opening frame. Koberstein also chipped in on the defensive side with five digs.
This is the second time that Koberstein has been named to the conference's weekly honor roll. She first earned the honors on Sept. 3 after being named the most valuable player at the Xavier Invitational.
Marquette will continue BIG EAST play this weekend when it travels to Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 29 for a 1 p.m. Central time match with the Fighting Irish, before concluding the two-match road swing with a 2 p.m. tilt at DePaul Sunday.
