NEW YORK--Redshirt junior Meghan Niemann was named to the BIG EAST Conference weekly honor roll, the league announced on Monday.

The Jackson, Wis. native helped Marquette to a 1-1 week with a straight set victory at Georgetown before falling to Creighton on Sunday. Niemann averaged 2.50 points per set, 2.00 kills per set and 1.00 blocks per set.

In the win over the Hoyas, Niemann had eight kills with just one error and hit .700 in the match with three blocks.

This is the second weekly honor of the season for Niemann, who was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week in the first week of competition, and the seventh honor in as many weeks for the Golden Eagles.

Marquette begins a five-match homestand on Friday when the squad hosts Providence at 6 p.m. CT. The Golden Eagles are 12-7 overall and 4-3 in BIG EAST action, which is fourth in the standings.
