MILWAUKEE - Redshirt freshman middle hitter Meghan Niemann of Marquette University earned the first BIG EAST Conference Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll recognition of her career on Monday, Oct. 14 after averaging almost four kills per set while hitting .462 in a 1-1 week.

Niemann led the Golden Eagles, who are ranked No. 21 in the newest NCAA Division I RPI rankings, to a sweep over Loyola Chicago on Tuesday, Oct. 8 and a straight-sets loss at Creighton on Sunday

The Jackson, Wis., native hit .500 with a match-high 12 kills and a pair of blocks against the Bluejays and led MU over Loyola with 11 kills on Tuesday.

Niemann, a 2012-13 BIG EAST All-Academic Team member, is a graduate of Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.

The Golden Eagles return to action against DePaul on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. when they host the Blue Demons at the Al McGuire Center to begin a four-match homestand.
