Louis and Barber on BIG EAST Honor Roll

NEW YORK – Redshirt sophomore Taylor Louis and freshman Allie Barber have both been named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll, the conference office announced on Monday.

Louis earns her fourth weekly honor of the season as she averaged 4.70 points on 4.10 kills and 1.9 digs per set in a 2-0 week for Marquette, which included two five-set wins over Butler and DePaul. The Skokie, Illinois native recorded her sixth double-double of the season at DePaul on Saturday with 21 kills and 11 digs.

Barber earns her first league accolade as she averaged 2.65 points with 2.30 kills per set while hitting .367. She helped start MU’s comeback in a crucial fourth set performance against DePaul after the Golden Eagles were down 0-2. Her hitting percentage ranked 10th in the league for the week.

The Golden Eagles begin the second half of BIG EAST play this week as they welcome Providence to the Al McGuire Center on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. before hosting league leader Creighton on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. Central time.
