Golden Eagles Welcome UIC Tuesday to the Al McGuire Center

MILWAUKEE - Riding a 10-match winning streak, the Marquette University women's volleyball team will return to action Tuesday against the University of Illinois-Chicago at 7 p.m. at the Al McGuire Center. Live statistics and streaming video through Marquette's multimedia platform, MUTube, will be available on GoMarquette.com.
The Golden Eagles (17-7, 8-2 BIG EAST) won both matches over the weekend, a clean sweep of all six sets, against West Virginia and Pittsburgh to finish October a perfect 10-0.
Senior middle hitter Rabbecka Gonyo, who leads the BIG EAST Conference the NCAA with an attack percentage of .441, was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll Monday for the first time in her career. Gonyo hit an incredible .625 in the wins over the Panthers and Mountaineers.
The Flames enter the match 12-14 overall and 7-7 in Horizon League play after sweeping Wright State on Saturday. Sophomore Kelsey Safranek leads UIC with 3.28 kills per set.
Marquette's 10-match winning streak ties a Golden Eagle record in NCAA Division I play recorded during the 1997 season. MU's top win streak of all-time is 14, recorded in 1979.
The Golden Eagles carry a 3-2 all-time series lead into Tuesday night's match with the Flames.
