Barber collects fourth BIG EAST Honor Roll nod

Nov. 7, 2017

NEW YORK— Outside hitter for the Marquette University women’s volleyball team Allie Barber was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her fourth time this season.

The Cedarburg, Wis. native averaged 4.50 points, 4.00 kills per set in Marquette’s 1-1 weekend, along with three aces. Barber posted 10 kills and five digs in a three-set loss to No. 14 Creighton on the road. In Marquette’s matchup against the Friars the following day, Barber hit at a .423 clip and notched 14 kills and two digs.

This week’s league accolades come seven days after Barber was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and Sports Impact/AVCA Player of the week. This week’s nod continues Barber’s six-week stretch of being honored by the BIG EAST.

Marquette holds a comfortable second place in conference, with the top-four teams making the league tournament. The Golden Eagles will play their final regular season home games this weekend against Georgetown on Friday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. Central time and will host Villanova at 6 p.m. on Saturday while honor Marquette’s lone senior.
