MILWAUKEE -- Marquette women's volleyball returns to action Friday night at 7 p.m. CT when the Golden Eagles play host to West Virginia.

"We need to work with the team and know that at this point and as the team moves forward, with a few matches left, we need to continue to get better and keep building for the future of Marquette volleyball," said interim head coach Erica Heisser.

Heisser takes over for Pati Rolf, who resigned her position as head coach Thursday afternoon, after nearly seven years at the helm. Heisser was in her fourth year as an assistant under Rolf after playing for Rolf from 2002-04.

The Golden Eagles (10-15, 4-8 BIG EAST) look to close out the final four games of the season on a high note after dropping a match in five sets Sunday at Seton Hall. Marquette has played in the maximum 20 sets over the last four matches.

The match will pair one of the longest tenured head volleyball coaches in the country in WVU's Veronica Hammersmith, who has won 562 career matches in 34 seasons, with Heisser, who will be coaching her first-ever match.

After hosting West Virginia on Friday, Marquette will welcome Pittsburgh to the Al McGuire Center for a Sunday afternoon tilt at 2 p.m. that will be streamed live via MUTV on GoMarquette.com. Live statistics will also be available.

This weekend's matches will close out BIG EAST play for Marquette as they prepare for the Bronco Thanksgiving Challenge Nov. 28-29 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
