Amanda Green Inks with Marquette Volleyball
Nov. 13, 2014
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's volleyball team has announced the signing of outside hitter and PrepVolleyball's No. 55 Senior Ace, Amanda Green, to a National Letter of Intent. Green will arrive on campus in the summer of 2015 and have four years of eligibility remaining with the program.
"Amanda's athleticism and upside is what makes her so special," Marquette head coach Ryan Theis said. "She will have the opportunity to be a major point scorer as part of our offense and blocking as her career progresses. We will have to figure out if she will be a better right side or left side at the NCAA level and that process is starting this year during her club season."
The 6-foot-1 Green attends Niles North High School, where she teamed with current MU freshman Taylor Louis, and competes on the club level with Sports Performance out of suburban Chicago. She was a two-time all-conference performer at Niles North and was voted the team's most improved player in 2013 and its offensive player of the year as a senior.
She helped the Vikings to a regional title in 2012, along with Louis, and served as team co-captain as a senior in 2014 during her fourth season as a letter winner.
The native of Skokie, Illinois, has evolved her game as a passer and currently plays all six rotations at outside hitter. A former gymnast and figure skater, she is a skilled blocker whose elite athleticism allows her to touch 10-foot-5.
Senior right-side hitter Lindsey Gosh is the lone player on the Marquette roster with no remaining eligibility following the 2014 campaign.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, Nov. 14 at Seton Hall and will play at Villanova on Saturday, Nov. 15 before returning home for their regular season finale on Nov. 22.
