Anna Haak Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

NEW YORK—The BIG EAST Conference has named Marquette University women’s volleyball outside hitter Anna Haak to the Weekly Honor Roll for her performance over the weekend against Georgetown and Villanova.
Haak averaged 4.5 points, 4.12 kills and 3.75 digs on .380 hitting in a 2-0 weekend for the Golden Eagles. The transfer from Miami (Fl.) racked up a career-high 25 kills to go with a career-tying 23 digs to notch her fifth double-double of the season in a five-set win over Villanova. In the sweep of Georgetown, Haak chipped in eight kills on just one attack error and added seven digs. The junior is averaging 3.17 kills and 3.2 digs per set in her first season as a Golden Eagle. This award marks the first honor for Haak this season and makes her the fifth overall Marquette player earning a conference honor this season.
With the pair of wins over the weekend, Marquette locked up a spot in this year’s BIG EAST Tournament. The top four teams from the conference make the tournament, which the Golden Eagles will host at the Al McGuire Center at the end of November.
Marquette wraps up the regular season at DePaul Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. Central time.
