MU Earns Seventh Straight NCAA Championship Berth

MILWAUKEE -- The Marquette University women's volleyball team has earned a berth in its seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament as the bracket was revealed on Sunday evening.
The Golden Eagles (22-9) will travel to Ames, Iowa at host, No. 14 national seed Iowa State, to face in-state rival Wisconsin (20-9) in the first round on Friday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. Central time. The winner will take on the winner of the Cyclones (21-6) and Princeton (18-7) at 6:30 CT on Saturday.
"It will be fun to get another shot at our in-state rival Wisconsin after playing them back in September," head coach Ryan Theis said. "I'm proud of our program making seven straight NCAA Tournaments and we are looking forward to heading back to Ames. They have a great home environment."
MU is one of two BIG EAST programs to advance to the NCAA Tournament this season along with BIG EAST regular season and tournament champion Creighton who was awarded the No. 9 national seed.
