Barber is an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Marquette University volleyball sophomore Allie Barber has earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American honors, announced on Wednesday.
Barber, the BIG EAST Player of the Year, bolted out in her sophomore season and averaged 4.71 kills per set, leading MU and the BIG EAST, and ranking in the top-10 among Division I NCAA players. She recorded double-digit kills in 30-of-32 matches this season and compiled a .328 hitting percentage. Barber was a unanimous First Team All-BIG EAST honoree and was named AVCA/Sports Imports National Player of the Week. Barber tallied 546 total kills in 2017, the third-most in a season in MU program history.
The Cedarburg, Wisconsin native becomes the 14th player in Marquette program history to be named an All-American and extend the Golden Eagles' stream to eight seasons with at least one player receiving the award.
